Visited the zoo for the first time this year having been going to Los Cristianos for years and never bothering to find out what it was like. Thanks to this site decided to give it a go and what value for money it turned out to be. Don't go expecting a Chester Zoo but if you want hands on contact with all shapes a sizes of monkeys this is the place for you. You walk through lots of the areas where they live and can buy food to attract them to you. Having said that they are getting fed all day so are not as eager as you might think! Some of the areas (such as where the chimps are kept) you can't walk through and are actually in need of some updating and some more enrichment activities for the apes to do. The chimp enclosure is very basic and and felt quite sorry for them. However, all in all, the animals seem well cared for and in good health and because of the low entrance fee the zoo probably doesn't have a lot of money to invest back into upgrading the facilities. Could have spent hours in with the lemus and small monkeys and I've added some photos to show just how close you can get. A must visit attraction for anyone going to Temerife.
