It was such a brilliant experience that we went there again. The monkeys were such fun and it was wonderful that we could walk freely with them jumping on us and feeding them. We found that they weren't as keen on the food being sold at the kiosk as they were with the grapes we took - a tip from a waiter. It was a marvellous experience and it is is a pity it is not advertised more. We took a taxi from Playa de las Americas which was very cheap.

Not an attraction that is widely advertised but fantastic! So good we went twice adult price just 10 euro kids around 6. Well worth a visit. Take some raisins as this will make you lots of friends! Lovely clean surroundings where the monkeys and lemurs will happily spend time on your shoulder or holding your hand whilst you feed them. All in all brilliant we had all different ages in our group from 2-40 and everyone had a great time. well worth a visit.

The Monkey Park was a great outing in Tenerife and much cheaper than any other attraction. We spent a beautiful morning there among the monkeys and iguanas, etc. As mentioned by other posts, it is not easy to find, you can see it from TF-1, but the road to get there is not well marked. Heading North toward Santa Cruz on TF-1, take exit 26 and head under the overpass, don't end up back on the TF-1, instead take the small road, and the first left. If you were heading toward the TF-1 on this road there is a sign for Parque Exotica, but nothing for Monkey Park. Keep following this road parallel to the TF-1 and you will see Monkey Park on the right. There will probably only be a few cars in the lot, this is part of the benefit. Head inside and you will be among the monkeys in minutes.
There are a great variety of monkeys and lemurs, bring some bananas and apples and you will be very popular! The dry food that they sell is not a big hit. Cut the apples into little pieces and it will go over better.
Both of my kids (9 & 5) had a great time and we got some good pictures of the experience. The monkeys in cages are very interesting, but the chimps seemed to go a little crazy while we were there.
I will echo the extra shirt post, as my husband is still trying to get the stains out of his!
The kids will love it!

I've been surfing Trip Advisor to figure out what to do on our vacation at Tenerife. First off Tenerife is not a great culinary experience (every restaurant has the same menu, but there are a few more original places)..

But that's not what I'm reviewing right now. I'm about to write about Monkey Zoo Park in Tenerife.



I was very confused when we went there, I had driving instructions from Google Earth and it said that it was right before Arona (a town up a road that goes to Teide).

Then I asked about it from a guide and she said that according to Google Earth, it's right before Arona.
Well, surprise surprise it isn't there, it's on the left-hand side of the motorway (when you're going towards Santa Cruz) and Cactus Park/Animal Zoo is right next to it.



So anyway, we found the place, it was great to be with the monkeys. The place is a park with lizards, parrots, monkeys, and even an alligator! The monkeys (the kind you can be with) are in a huge cage with doors seperating the monkeys.

I thought that the monkeys would be crazy and steal your sunglasses/cameras/jewelery etc., but actually they are very calm.
The yellow little monkeys are the ones that are more active, atleast when they see your food bag! They will try to "steal" your food and climb on you to get to the food bag.

There's iguanas and guinea pigs living with the monkeys, so if you don't like reptiles you may not like to go to the monkey cages (the iguanas are very calm and they won't even move when you go near them, but I don't recommend to go and disturb them.

Great place to visit, but in my opinion the animals need a bit more space and a little bit better environment to live in.
I don't mean that they're suffering though!
