Pearl Harbor and the Arizona Memorial are wonderful and a must-do. Very moving experience. However, beware if you are looking for a tour to get you there--or---as we, firstimers to Pearl Harbor, reading about long lines (and there are) and trying to avoid the lines---do not book with Big Kahuna Tours. They are misleading and unethical. Reading about the long lines and possibility of no tickets depending on the crowd, we were traveling over Christmas with one day in Honolulu to visit Pearl Harbor. Though we had a rental car and option to drive ourselves we thought it prudent if we could find a tour that already had tickets for the Arizona if you went along on their tour. Ahead of our trip I communicated with Big Kahuna--asked them this question upfront. They said YES they do and that is why many people book with them...though the tour also inlcuded Punchbowl Cemetary & Honolulu. While we did not want the other part of the tour we thought it may be worth getting into see the Arizona and booked this (4 of us) at $25 pp. Wow were we surprised--and not in a good way. First of all the bus was to pick us up at 9:25 am from our hotel. The night before we were out late. When we arrived at our hotel --late--there was a message that the tour had been changed to a pick up at 7am. We were really tired the next morning, not anticipating this early pick up. Then our bus was delayed to pick up part of another tour that was stranded by a broken bus. When we finally arrived--we were dropped off at the back of a line that wrapped around the building----to wait for tickets. TOTALLY misled. Then there was a 2-1/2 hr wait for the exhibit. Others on our tour also said they only booked because they were misled the same way expecting no wait and pre-acquired tickets. So...a free exhibit that we could have arrived at earlier --by ourselves--cost us alot of time and $100. RUN from Big Kahuna --as fast as you can! When I asked for a refund and even shot back my original email --they said they "misunderstood" though it was in black & white. They refused the refund because the tour was completed. Rip off artists and truly misleading to those who have not been before. GO ON YOUR OWN!!!
