Decent hotel in a nice location across the street from a relatively quiet beach (especially during the week), and the prices is not bad. Note you are far from the main part of Rio itself (you can get there by a combination of bus and subway, but it is not quick and easy to do so). Even if your business is in Barra de Tijuca taxis can be pricey if you want to go further than Barra Shopping mall, and the information on busses (regular and air-conditioned) I got from the front desk was inconsistent (one woman working the front desk was very helpful and called to give me the correct bus numbers). Most front desk staff spoke English as well as Portuguese. Although the signs for the small restaurant advertised only the breakfast that is included in the room price, you can also get lunch or dinner there. Only other options close by are kiosks along the beach (some actually serve small meals in addition to snacks) and a Subway sandwich franchise almost next door. There was a good fish restaurant about a 20-minute walk down the beach. Small exercise room and small swimming pool were nice, and you can get towels and beach chairs for free to take to the beach.
