I booked this hotel after seeing it on Trip advisor, we flew into Bologna and just wanted one night before we travelled to Montaine to stay for a week. We arrived about 4pm the receptionist was very friendly and spoke very good english, I had booked a triple room for myself and my two daughters and a double for my husband and step son, bearing in mind we booked it months ago we were in totally different ends of the Hotel which I was annoyed about. My triple room was very basic and was only set up for 2, the shower was a bit iffy and not that clean proberbly due for refurb. The pool was TINY looks much bigger on their website and there was only 8 sun beds all occupied when we got there, there is nowhere else to sit. The view can only be seen from the terrace resturant due to the very large trees we ate in Fiesole as it was very expensive at hotel, there is a much better viewing platform in the village. The breakfast was superb and all the staff were friendly it was just overpriced for what we had it cost £300 for one night.

“Villa with a View”

Villa Fiesole Hotel

Aug 17, 2008

We stayed 5 nights here; me, my husband and our two teenage children. The hotel is on a hillside, so wonderful views of the Tuscan countryside - with Florence as the jewel in this crown. The swimming pool is small but in a lovely setting - surrounded by greenery and an ivy-covered hexagonal tower. After a day in town, it was bliss to have a dip then bask in soft sunlight.

Villa Fiesole is smallish, and the better for it. Our rooms were spotlessly clean and well maintained, with adequate air con. The plentiful, fresh breakfast is served either indoors or on the terrace - did I mention the views? There is a large lounge with free laptop/internet access, much appreciated by our kids. Transport is easy: the number 7 bus (buy tickets at Reception) takes you down to Florence or up to Fiesole, where we ate most nights.

There were a couple of very minor drawbacks: a surly porter, a pompous barman and (invevitably) mosquitos. All easily overcome: zap the mossies and ignore the macho men. With these 2 exceptions, all the staff were lovely. We had a lovely time, and I very much hope to go back.

We arrived on Christmas day and were quickly ushered to our room, which was a junior suite that opened out onto a huge terrace that overlooked Florence. The room was beautiful and comfortable. We almost had to tear ourselves away to visit Florence. We had reserved for Christmas dinner at the restaurant via e-mail. When I mentioned the reservation, the desk clerk said it was never received but he assured us it would not be a problem. The hotel was rather empty except for a block of rooms that had been booked by, we were told, a German prince. They were therefore obliged to keep the restaurant open. We were the only diners that night, but the waiter was friendly and helpful and made feel perfectly at ease. We stayed there a total of 5 nights and ate at the hotel restaurant 3 of them. The bus into town was easy to catch, coming and going. Well worth not having to hassle with a car, in my opinion. The staff was friendly and helpful. I would definitely stay there again.

“Fabulous Hotel”

This hotel is fabulous. I just spent a week in Fiesole visiting family and stayed at Hotel Villa Fiesole. I could not of been more pleased with the room, breakfast, and service in the hotel. The rooms are beautifully decorated and are generous in size, the bathrooms are new and very clean. When I travel I usually stay at 5 star hotels and this hotels rooms were just as nice. The view overlooking Florence was just spectacular at night. This is the place to stay when you want to leave the city and relax after a long day.

“Great Hotel”

Villa Fiesole Hotel

Great Hotel, we booked a standard room and found it to be very large, clean.

Lovely restaurant, great friendly service, prices equal to those we paid in Florence. No sign of a noisy family mentioned in an earlier review. Great breakfast. Wonderful views.

Reception staff very friendly and helpful, gave us plenty of great info including a couple of good restuarants in Florence.

Yes, there is gravel in driveway and a few steps, but the view and atmosphere make the effort worth it. This building is an old villa not a concrete chain hotel.
