Hotel was completely booked when I called them 6 weeks before the Pearl Harbor Day Event. They took my name and number and actually called me a couple of weeks to later to tell me they had a cancellation. Wow, were we lucky! This place is really great. From the outside, it looks like a regular hangar, but there is... more

This was an absolute BLAST! We are from the Austin area and recently moved to Houston. We came back to the hill country because both my wife and I just love the area and love Fredericksburg. We decided to come in the middle of the week and leave on Friday to avoid the massive crush of people for the wine... more

Marvelous trip back in time. Employees are dressed as 1940s Air Force personnel. Phones, clocks, blankets, etc. are all designed for the period. The Officer's Club is a great place to hang out in the evening to hear some wonderful stories. Just out back of the Hangar is the airport runway where there were lots of refurbished airplanes from the... more

Hello everyone! We have stayed here on average once a month, since the hotel opened, even though we live just down the road in Austin. It's a quiet hotel, you can enjoy the stillness of the runway between the takeoffs & landings of the planes. Oddly enough, the noise of the planes and other vehicles won't disturb you like you'd... more

Very cute inside. I went for a wedding and everyone was excited to be there for the event. The hotel staff was nice, EXCEPT for the bar staff. Very rude bar staff, the worst I have ever come across. It was very disappointing, because the bar had a great ambiance. They had a pool table and a piano, but unfortunately... more

A very cold place.... Drive up to blacktop and metal, nice lobby, nothing going on, the bar and the diner were closed. No pool, or jacuzzi, no grounds to walk..... Nothing like what you would think of Fredericksburg, Texas. The front desk staff were too busy visiting with each other to pay any attention to us. The roonm was clean,... more

Wow, if you are nostalgic for the 1940s, this is your place. If you are not, this is still an excellent place to stay. When you first drive up, it doesn't look like much - then you walk inside and WOW! From the music playing in the lobby to the decor of antiques, this is great. The rooms are also... more

Great! A very unique hotel! My girlfriend and I stayed there many times, and each time was romantic adventure. We're both pilots,so the aviation ambience was perfect for us.The rooms are fantastic, and the decor truly takes you back in time. The sweep of the airport beacon light on the windows added a special touch for a couple of pilots who are also... more

My husband, who is a pilot, and I went to check out the Hangar Hotel while we were in Fredericksburg. We didn't stay there, but had heavily contemplated it before booking a B&B (which was also great) in Stonewall. Nonetheless, we went to check it out one day out of sheer curiosity. It was great! I don't think the pictures... more
