This is an excellent hotel, just steps from downtown and a block from the metro line. The staff is excellent no problems. They are well trained and quick to respond. There are towncars seeminly present at all times. Upgrades for Starwood Platinum members, no problem nor did we have to ask. I have heard that Gold members are also frequently... more

With a AAA discount and booked via the website, we secured a nice double bed room for $160 night - the location was fantastic - only one very small block from the MAX light rail (direct from airport) at Pioneer Square. Centrally located for everything - public transportation (free downtown), Pearl District, shopping (tax-free), etc. No free breakfast (just coffee)... more

Stayed in the Westin Portland over the thanksgiving weekend to do some holiday shopping in Portland. We picked the Westin because of the reputation of the hotel, and that we had a travel voucher that limited our selection. This was the best hotel our $700 could be used on. We were really underwhelmed by the quality of our Studio Suite.... more

holy cow, this is the worst westin I've ever been at to be honest. The staff was incredibly rude, starting with the bellman who insisted I pull forward and out of the way of some town car drivers while I unloaded my luggage. I think he wanted to keep those town cars handy for some vips. who knows? The bed... more

A good solid Westin property with a great location. We were on the 19th floor (top) which had amazing views. The room was spacious and well furnished. The lobby staff were great and very personable. The lobby restaurant, Daily Grill, is very good for casual dining and cocktailing. All in all a good experience. more

I knew The Westin Portland was going to be good. Every time I called, the telephone was answered with a clear voice that took the time to say each word. I can't tell you how much of a turn-off it is that the very rushed getallthewordsoutasfasasyoucansoyoucangettothenextcall commonplace telephone greeting is for me. upon arriving the door to the hotel was... more

Stayed here in October 2008 on my first trip to Portland. Suffice to say, it was not a great introduction to the city. The hotel is in a central enough location, but it does seem really old. I was upgraded into a "junior suite", which was the size of a regular room in a Westin. Carpets were old, lighting was... more

Excellent hotel, the bed was comfy and my corner room on the 17th floor was fantastic. The hotel was very clean and the rooms well furnished. There was an ample supply of towels in the bathroom, the bed was heavenly and a good nights sleep was had on all nights. Added bonus was that the hotel was in a central... more

The bellmen told me it would cost the same to take their town car to the airport as it would if I took the taxi sitting across the street. When I got to the airport the town car/limo driver was rude and demanded $45.00! A taxi costs me $33.00!!! What gives? I sense some kind of racket or payola scheme.... more

This was my first stay at a Westin, and I have to admit I wasn't blown away. The bed was ok, but not the most comfortable I've ever slept in. The fireplace downstairs was lovely, and it was quite cozy given the cool, gloomy weather outside. I ate only breakfast at the Daily Grill, but it was good (a bit... more
