me and my girlfreind got a room at the jupiter for NYE. everything was fine but when we checked out a few days later I checked my credit card statement to find that they had charged me more than double what was agreed upon. when I asked for explanation of the extra charges they told me I got the room... more

PROS: Awesome if you have a pet (they'll even let you leave your pooch in the room while you go out to dinner, etc.). Great location near excellent restaurants and cute shops. Convenient parking in garage below and great restaurant/bar called Doug Fir on the property. People are cool. Reasonably priced. We stayed here once during a snowstorm on a... more

I stayed here with my brother and daughter while driving from Las Vegas to Seattle. The place was a MOTEL, not a hotel. The rooms were tiny. I felt like things in the room were clean, except for the fuzzy green pillows on the beds (as a previous reviewer noted). I put those away as soon as we got there;... more

I recently spent 3 days in Portland, and needed to be close to the convention center. I stayed at the Jupiter, a small retro boutique hotel just adjacent to downtown and only a few blocks from the Oregon Convention Center. The hotel was perfect. Great, modern rooms, under $100 bucks, the staff was great, they were very helpful and attentive.... more

Overall, the hotel space is attractive, modern, and blu-lite hipster cool. The room was clean; the bed low-to-the-ground, but comfy; and the hotel staff was polite and efficient. And we loved the Doug Fir drinks and food! However, the "boom boom boom" of the speakers in the outside nightclub were really annoying at 2:30 a.m. I'm not sure I agree... more

We booked thru Hotwire so we happily only paid about $60.00 to stay there but unhappily we booked more then one night before we found out what kind of place it is. I had to go to the hospital in Portland and have surgery and ended up staying longer then I planned so I lucked out and got to stay... more

The room decor was a creative way to spruce up a former scum bag of a place. Clean, pretty noisy, but alright. We went to the bar and tried to get a drink and a snack. We tried and tried and tried, then we left. Little too cool for school really. more

If you're over 28, aren't tatooed, pierced, or wear black and/or rock-n-roll T-shirts, don't bother. Additionally, the bed had to be the least comfortable I've EVER stayed in, and I travel 10+ weeks annually. more

We got stuck in room 139.... way in the corner.... hardly any natural light... The room was tiny.... really stuffy, since there's no natural air flow... the window didn't open... air conditioner/fan was ridiculously noisy... as was the ice machine outside our room.... the bed was pretty comfy, and the noise-factor from the bar patrons wasn't an issue for us........ more

An attempt to be an urban hip motel has led to the Jupiter being a boutique barrio with questionable clientele. Our experience at the Jupiter was abominable! We only stayed three hours due to the uncleanliness (a condom on the floor), filthy linens, rugs, etc. Our in-room conversation was inaudible due to the high octave patio/bar area sound pollution below;... more
