I was advised by friends who used to live in Detroit and by our taxi driver, that the neighbourhood is a bit rough, tho. OK in immediate vicinity of museum - I was advised to get a taxi there and back. But it's well worth it - if you are a Motown fan, you can spend over 2 hours here,... more

My wife and I live in the northern suburbs of Detroit. We've visited all the local museums over the years but for some reason never gave a thought to going to the Motown Museum. Little did we know what we've been missing. I have never had such a completely fulfilling time in my life in any attraction anywhere in the... more

This is a must see museum! I was 17 when I visited and I got cousins, grandparents, and friends of all ages to come along with me. It truly is a great experience for the whole family, especially if you have fallen in love with the soul and rhythm of the music as I did. Even though its been about... more

Since my mid teens (I'm now almost 58 years of age), I've wanted to visit Hitsville USA (the home of Motown). I arrived early and got to wander around all on own; I even got to sit on the stairs leading down into the legendary Studio A without anybody else being there. As a British soul music fan words alone... more

This tour involves all of these elements. You learn about the Gordy family, immigration or migration from the South. You see artifacts such as Michael Jackson's Thriller... more

A great atrractions that takes you back to the great Motown sound. From Berry Gordons piano in the studio, to the actual notes on the secratary's desk. Memories are captured within the many albums hanging on the walls and the costums inside the pelxiglass . It's really a spectacular adventure to experience. more

We visited the Hitsville home of Motown in July 2005 and it is a lasting memory. The person that stated that the guide rushed them through did not have our guide! His name was Will Smith and he was a wonderful guide and really made the experience for us. The orientation movie was very enjoyable and had almost everyone "dancing... more

We went there the week before Memorial Day. I enjoyed learning more about the history Motown. It was as thrill to sing and dance in the Studio at the end of the tour. I wished I had understood that this (the Studio) was one of the areas where pictures were allowed. Also, loved the film they show at the beginning... more

If you were allowed to take the tour on your own it would be much. much better. The tour guide ran through the museum and would not give you any time to view the displays. Very unimpressed more

I visited Detroit (too?) many times before I got round to this visit. It was quite the emotional experience: Standing in Studio A thinking this is where it happened, this is where they were. If the music, or the memory of it, means anything to you then this is a place not to be missed. more
