I went to Grand Bazaar with some expectations and i left this market very disappointed. What's the big deal about it? It claims that has more than 3000 shops but we can divided all of them in 4 types: the gold/ silver stores, the fake bags and clothes, the colourful lamps and the leather goods stores. If you see an... more

The Grand Bazaar is an enclosed warren of some 4000 shops. An easy place to get lost in. By all means, see the Grand Bazaar, it is remarkable. My advice would be to avoid purchasing there. The mark-up on goods is high and the shopkeepers are expert at bargaining with tourists. Tourists do not have an edge at the Grand... more

Not hard to find, there are helpful signs along the way, although some say “Grand Bazaar” and others say “Kapalicarsi”, so be alert for both. It was only about a 15 minute walk from the Aya Sofya area. The Grand Bazaar is almost overwhelming in its size and density. Fortunately, although some of the corridors were jam-packed, there were others... more

Fun to walk through, though we didn’t stop to haggle. It’s a bit overwhelming both in size and bustle. Watch your wallet. more

It's really huge but it is almost impossible to find different products. If you want to buy some expensive stuff like carpets or jewellery, my recommendation is to check the prices at the bazaar and to buy the stuff from somewhere else. It is always better to ask it to the receptionists if he is a reliable one. more

The Grand Bazaar has awesome handmade ceramics, and unique crafts, but you have to watch out since its a major tourist attraction because the merchants can easily rip you off if you dont know how to bargain. I dont recommend buying any type of perfume because I bought a name brand Amor Amor by Cacherral for $30.00 US dollars and... more

it's a swap meet without air. if you go, prepare for the worst headache of your life. Shop other places first. I like the shops around The Blue Mosque, If you're in the area, go to the Four Seasons Hotel and have a drink in the court yard, you don't need to be a guest and it's not expensive. While... more

Looks fine, but prices are over-the-average. Even after bargaining you can still find lower prices outside bazaar. I.e. on opposite side of main street is a leather shoes and bags district. Everything is at least 50% cheaper than lowest bazaar price. more

This is definitely a place to go if you like to shop till you drop. The Bazaar is very BIG and is covered so a good place to go if it is raining, a very hot day or very cold day. It is very easy to get lost in the bazaar, I took a guide book with me and ended... more
