This was my kids' favorite museum in Washington. They loved the interactive exhibits and I loved learning the history of mail delivery. When you can serve all ages like that, what more can you ask for? more

There is quite a bit of stuff to see, but unless you are really interested in the history of mail, it is dispensible. The exhibits are good and there is quite a bit to learn about the topic and there is a lot for kids. The gift shop is pretty good for some original souvenires. more

A Great Museum in the D.C. area. We went here when we were near the Union Station. It outlines and shows how important the U.S. Postal Service is ,and how it has kept the country in touch with each other for many years. more

We loved this museum. It was probably our favorite in DC. There was no crowd---we visited over the week of July 4th & everything else was very crowded. We have 3 kids, ages 4-12 & they all loved it. The National Postal Museum is right across the street from Union Station and is perhaps my favorite of all the musuems of the Smithsonian. We loved this museum. It is easy to get to, being right outside of Union Station. It was more interactive than other museums we visited. We found ourselves there for at least a couple hours and actually enjoying ourselves. Even though it is not on the mall, this is museum is part of the smithsonian. It is near Union Station on Capital Hill. It is not as overwhelming as the other smithsonian museums, but equally as interesting. It has the wrapper that the hope diamond was delivered in. The nation's largest stamp collection.
