With the American History Museum closed for renovations (re-opening next weekend), Air & Space was probably our favorite of the classics on the Mall. The galleries that have recently been updated - Pioneers of flight, Great War in the Air, Wright Brothers, etc - look very sharp and are very engaging. The others are still interesting, just show their age... more

Who would miss this on a trip to DC? This was definitely a worthwhile visit even for those who aren't space fanatics. Can touch a piece of the moon and see spectacular pieces of history. They offer several Imax theater productions. more

The exhibits are truly unique and you will not see this stuff anywhere else. It is awe-inspiring to stand next to the actual pods that took man to the Moon and back. Take the docent tour, otherwise you will walk around and take pictures of things that you do not know the story behind. My docent took over three hours,... more

I was actually surprised with the variety and amount of collections they have there. Also the museum is very organized, so you won't get lost or loose anything isf you start in one of the sides of the museum. And the best of it: it's free! more

This is a fabulous museum if you have any interest in the race to the moon, the Wright brothers and other aviation firsts. My only regret is that we didn't have more time to devote to it. We went in July and it was incredibly crowded both times we went. All we had was an hour each time, so we... more

Great collection of actual planes. There were some interactive parts that captured the attention of the the youngsters with plenty to enjoy everyone. Plan to spend a few hours absorbing the history of air and space. more

During our visit one of the other museums was being renovated, and the favorite displays, such as Star Wars things and Wizard of Ozabilia and television favorites, were moved into this museum. The crowding was so great that you could barely see the objects, much less navigate. I did enjoy seeing these things, but the constant shoving of people wanting... more

My whole family loved the Air & Space Museum. We stayed 2 blocks away at the Holiday Inn and walked right to it with no problem. Admission of course is free but the museum is an awesome place for any age group. more

I was really disappointed and so were my two sons, 10 & 13. It was crowded, noisy and the displays just weren't interesting. I did enjoy seeing things like the Wright Brothers plane, The Spirit of St. Louis, etc. but I was overwhelmed by the exhibits...it just didn't seem organized properly. The place needs to be updated - a complete... more
