This is one of the best museums in the DC area. If you're visiting on the weekend you can find parking on 6th Street across from the museum for $10/day. The architecture is modern and the displays are cutting edge. There's also a Wolfgang Puck cafeteria that offers pizza, salads, fried foods, etc. I recommend getting there early (9 AM)... more

Unless you have absolutely ZERO interest in current events, history, and journalsim you'll love this place! We spent around 5 hours there and felt like we could have stayed longer. Highlights: Sections of the Berlin wall, the first amendment section, interactive ethics game, tv studio, documentary films, and even the wolfgang puck cafeteria! Low points: Price, it's $20 but well... more

I have been to Washington many times and have visited all of the museums. This is the best of the them all. It is interesting to all ages with high tech activities and games, copies of newspapers from long ago, video of the most significant events of the past, a 4-D theater, a live theater where productions/interviews are done, and... more

If you have any interest in news, history, current events, politics, etc... this is an absolute must-see. You can easily spend days here. The days I visited (a Friday and a Sunday) were not crowded, so you can spend as much time as you need to in each exhibit without feeling rushed. A fantastic experience to rival any museum experience... more

The newseum is absolutely fantastic! One of the best things to do in DC. There is so much to see there, plan a few hours at the very least. I know we'll be back for sure!! The 9/11 exhibit is incredibly emotional. more

It is a large and well planned museum, and I agree with a lot of previous reviews which it is unnecessary to repeat. We spent 4 hours there and could easily have done another hour. I enjoyed the gimmicky yet fun 4D movie, the wonderful Pulitzer winning photgraphs, and the wealth of historical information on how the medium developped. Above... more

This was one of my very favorite things that we did on our trip. I thought it was worth every penny!!!! my only regret is that I didn't go there first thing in the morning, because the couple hours before closing wasn't long enough! I LOVED the Pulitzer prize exhibit, which was probably my favorite. My husband had to pull... more

I’ve never done a review on a museum before. This one was so bad that I felt it my duty to warn the general public. Apparently the Newseum recently moved from it’s old home outside of D.C. to a an enormous, multi-billion dollar center located within walking distance of the Capitol and Museum of Art. Entry will cost you $20pp.... more

I visited the Newseum on Pennsylvania Ave in Washington DC on August 13th 2008. I was in Washington for some sight seeing with my sister (we are both in our mid 30's) and my daughter who is 14 years old. We were looking forward to visiting this museum for a number of reasons, but most importantly because we are the... more

Great Experience. The 3d movie was fun. They had a special exhibit on the FBI with lots of stuff from the FBI Museum(which I think is closed to the public now). A great observation deck looking down Penn. Ave. Dont miss it. more
