This museum for Genocide victims (the official title) is based in a building that was once used by the KGB and still has the original cells intact in the basement. The KGB or as it was formerly known NKGB building is a must see "attraction" especially for those who are visiting from what we have always regarded as "democratic countries" i am a regular visitor to Lithuania and have visited this museum on a regular basis, it is gut wrenching, desperately sad but at the same time inspiring, i will... more

The KGB Museum in Vilnius was terrifyingly fascinating and haunting. It is should be on your must see list when in Vilnius. The former KGB prison which includes torture chambers of varying types are on display. An audioguide, which has real accounts from former prisoners, is a must to fully understand what you are seeing.
