Rynek Glowny in summer is wonderfully gorgeous... full of people, food, bars (and the best and biggest cheese pizza I have tasted)... just make sure you ask for ice with your soft drink, the soft drink in Poland I feel is very warm and since the weather is also warm at times ice really does the trick. The Glowny has... more

We could have skipped the cloth hall, but the square itself was lovely. Great people watching, clean, eateries. We enjoyed a piwo several times, sitting at one of the many outside establishments. Great view from the tower on the southwest side of the square. The side streets around the square were good window shopping. Wish we had taken a horse... more

We loved the Rynek Glowny, and found ourselves passing through it several times daily, it is very central. We also enjoyed all the outdoor cafes that ring the massive square. There is a good variety of cuisines and a place to suit any budget. There was a festival going on while we were there and every night there was live... more

The market square was beautiful. It was very large with the the cloth market in the centre. Restaurants, shops and churches line the square and stalls selling flowers and musicians give the square a nice feel. The architecture around the square is some of the best renovated buildings in Krakow and some buildings were having work done to them while... more

Not going to write too much. But go to Maly Rynek, it is 100yards from the Main square and quieter, more romatic, etc. Bascially walk along the left side of the HUGE St Marys Church for about 100-200 yards and it is on your right. Nice few places to sit outside and watch the world go by. Didn't eat here,... more

My boyfriend and I constantly came back to the Rynek during day and night and there was always something going on, and full of locals and tourists. We ate ice creams during the day(struggling with my basic Polish) and drank good Zwyiec whilst watching men dressed as angels on scaffolding with a light show dangling above our heads! I would... more

One of my favorite places in one of my favorite cities. Amazing life is here. Street performers, shops, statues, people, the Trumpeter of Krakow nearby...just amazing! more

I live in London and really wish that the Market Square would replace our Leicester Square as it's such a fine place and has no tacky comerical shops which can easily ruin the image of an area. The fine cafes stretch all around the square and there is plenty of space for everyone to visit. The horse rides are expensive... more

I love Krakow's magnificent rynek. I could (and have many times!) spend a whole day here. On and around the city square is everything you could possible need. For starters, it's beautiful. The old market hall, the Sukiennice, is a piece of stunning and unique architecture from which the rest of the squares radiates. Inside the Sukiennice are sellers of... more

I had the opportunity to visit Krakow as well as several other towns and villages in last July 2004. It was an amazing experience. From the historical Wawel Castle to the hustle and bustle of the Market Square, visiting this beautiful city rich history and charm is a something everyone should do. From people watching to shopping in the quaint... more
