We decided to take a trip to the Glowworm Caves during our trip to Queenstown in July. The brochure certainly looked enticing! The total one way journey from Queenstown took 4 hours (including the ferry ride). The ferry, bookings and tour was all handled very well. I found this trip to be seriously overpriced for what you got. We went on the evening tour, so the boat leaves at 7pm for a trip across the lake in the dark - takes about 30 mins. Then we went onto this island and walked around on these narrow metal grates for ages, then through the cave. The actual... more
