We stayed at Bimbadeen Estate for three nights over a weekend in August 2008. During our four days in the Hunter, we enjoyed lots of wine tasting and indulging. I highly recommend Audrey Wilkinson winery, they do a fabulous sparkling semillon and have very friendly staff. We also went to Lindemans (very nice), McGuigans (good and reasonably priced - try... more

My brother, his wife, my partner and I went here last Easter. We stayed at the Best Western Wine Country Motor Inn in Cessnock, it was comfortable, clean and great value for money. A friend of mine had recommended that we go on a wine tour with a company called ‘Cheers’, the tour was great fun, the driver/tour guide was... more

I've visited the hunter valley with my husband on 2 occasions, the most recent end of December 2007. There are over 100 wineries in the area. The average price for wine is around $16-$18 a bottle. A few wineries that I recommend are Tempus Two (huge modern winery on the main road), Audrey Wilkinson winery, Wandin Valley winery (this is... more

We go each year to a Food and Wine Festival in Lovedale. It is held on the 3rd weekend in May each year. Over... more

If you're going to stop over in the Hunter Valley look no further than the Nightingale Winery in Broke near Singleton in NSW. We stopped there for two days earlier this month and had a tremendous time. They have six brand new suite type accommodations and have spared no expense in fitting them out - they are truely luxurious. You... more

In November last year we were in Sydney and hired a car for a day trip to the Hunter Valley. We travelled via Wollombi where we stopped for lunch at a lovely little cafe. There are numerous wineries we visited Lindemans, Rothbury, Tempus Two, Rosemount and Wyndhams. The latter being the best the lady there was fantastic and we tried... more

Billabong Moon is gorgeous! When looking for a unique cottage/inn/B&B place to stay in the Hunter Valley, I was disappointed with most search results. Although many places sounded lovely, as soon as you looked at the pictures they were ugly and old with dreadful 'country kitchen' type decor. If you are after a classy romantic weekend in gorgeous surrounds with... more
