Follow these two suggestions: 1) go to www.ricksteves.com to download his free 2 hour audio tour. You can save it to your MP3 player or IPOD. It is informative and entertaining, highlighting the most important works at the Uffizi. 2) make reservations at least one month in advance. This is an amazing museum. We were there 4/08, the foreign tourists were not there yet, mostly Italian school children on field trips, not super crowded. Bring your own guide book, or pull out the pages on the Uffizi from the book about Italy you bought and take with you , The guides there are very pricey. Wear comfy shoes... more
