This is a first-class museum...Of course, the highlight is "Las Meninas" but there is so much to see in this place. The architecture of the building is beautiful, and the neighborhood is very nice. We drove like 4hrs from Costa Blanca for 2 days in Madrid for this museum, and it was worth it. My girlfriend is a art history major so she was my own private tour guide :) I'm not an art buff but I still enjoyed myself. Lots of great pieces of art, enough said. more

Fascinating, but recommend you hire a private guide for the "inside" information about the paintings. Don't bother with El Greco, see his paintings in Toledo. more
