This was worth travelling the long distance - in fact the original day we intended to go was very wet (it's only on Fri & Sat 7-9 in the low season) so I planned the whole Saturday round it - we walked El Raval to the Port , it was still wet, up the hill to Miro, & were nicely... more

This is definitely worth seeing, very spectacular and a great atmosphere. However please note IT ONLY HAPPENS AT THE WEEKEND! We went midweek the first time, as did a lot of other people! Well worth going back for though! more

A very romantic spot...or a fun family spot. The fountain show is every Thursday through Sunday from 9-11pm or midnight. It gets super packed, so if you want to be there close enough to hear the music, get there early and stand near the big fountain. If visiting Barcelona then a visit to the magic fountains are a must. We visited recently whilst staying in the Costa Dorada, the last song played was 'Barcelona' (the Freddie Mercury Olympic song) and the hairs on the back of your neck literally stood on end. The Magic Fountain in action is the most beautiful thing to see in Barcelona... obviously Gaudi's work is a must but not necessarily for everybody's taste. From May to September, the show begins at 21.00 and from 21.30 and every half hour until 23.30, there is also a music show. Spend part of your evening here if you can, and plan to walk around. It was really so much more than we expected. First of all, "magic fountain" implies that there is one fountain, but there are many! The avenue leading up to the fountain, then well beyond. Make sure you walk well above the fountain, up near the building... more
