This is a beautiful church. It was undergoing restoration (the leeward side) in November, 2008. It is enormous in site & stature, when compared to the surrounding buildings. Colour and Light in Palma Cathedral Those are the main reasons to get in: Incredible " Baldaquino" by Antonio Gaudi in art nouveau. Metaphysical signicance in the rosewindow and unusual surprising contemporay art in the mural work by Barcelo. more

The cathedral looks great from the outside and that's probably the best place to see it from. Inside, apart from the strong sunshine through the stained glass, it's rather dark, uninteresting and uninspiring. There's an admission charge as well... more
