We spent one night en-route from Venice to Munich. The location is very central and we had a view from our room. Considering the cheap price, we were very impressed with the Ibis. It’s clean, new, and in a pretty good location above the train / tram station. The rooms are basic, but quite spacious by European standards. There are plenty of restaurants within walking distance, and a bakery / café across the road where you can get a good cheap breakfast.... more
The Karwendel is the 2nd highest mountain in Germany, bordering Austria. Starting at the base lodge in Mittenwald a cable car takes you to the (almost) top of the Karwendel, approximately 20-30 minute ride.
