Traveler Reviews on Tirol

Arthotel GmbH Binders

2 of 5 stars
Athens, Greece
Jan 6, 2009

We stayed at the hotel just for one night and that was the only good thing about it! I've been in Austria quite a few times and this was a not a typical example of a cosy little decent hotel. I asked for a family room but I specified that we are 2 couples and not a family with kids... more

Cordial Golf & Wellness Hotel Reith

Jan 6, 2009

Based on 25 years of travelling experience around the globe, this hotel is certainly at the bottom of my list. The official check-in time is 3:00PM, we arrived at about 3:15PM and had to wait for about an hour before our room got cleaned. The bathroom was still full off hair from previous guests. The carpets in the hallways probably... more

Romantik Hotel Schwarzer Adler

Jan 6, 2009

My wife and I stayed in Hotel Romantik over Christmas 08. We loved the town christmas markets and beautiful landscape. The hotel is in a nice area, perfect walking distance from town center as well only a 200meter walk from the lift that takes you to the ski area. The rooms were very nice, the open floorplan and stairwells made... more

Alpenhotel Tirolerhof

TEESSIDE, ENGLAND
Jan 5, 2009

We have just returned from a week at the Tirolerhof, staying over the New Year period. We made a late booking and weren't sure what to expect but this hotel is a family run business and it showed in the welcome! The decor could be classed as comfortable or traditional rather than modern but everywhere was clean and well-presented and... more

Hotel Staffler

Jan 5, 2009

Returned yesterday from a truly wonderful stay at the Staffler. Having read reveiws prior to and after our stay I felt compelled to add a positive and less cynical veiw... We(3 families) went with a very open mind having read a mixture of reports.( many of which were written prior to the removal of a tour operator exaggerating the truth... more

Jan 5, 2009

I stayed in the Post as part of a skiing trip (the skiing was thoroughly enjoyable, as was the resort of Westendorf). The Hotel was fully booked and we had unfortunately been allocated the noisest room in the hotel, and due to it being fully booked, they couldnt move us to another room. Between the noise of kids running wild... more

Austria Bellevue Hotel

Jan 5, 2009

I will start with the positive, the food is good, the staff in general are very welcoming and friendly. I am afraid that is it ! Before I address the biggest problem with the hotel, the manager, there are some smaller disappointing gripes I would like to mention, firstly there is no water with dinner or breakfast, if you want... more

Hotel Crystal

2 of 5 stars
North of England
Jan 5, 2009

Just got back from New Year and the newly refurbished, extended and reopened Crystal. It was a bit of a shambles, as it opened right on the last minute and the staff didn't really know their stuff. The restaurant staff didn't know the menus, so meals were horribly delayed. took 3.5 hours to eat on New Year's Eve. We were... more

Pension Paula

Jan 5, 2009

We spent two days in Innsbruck end of december 2008 and Pension Paula was a very good choice we made. It is a warm and nice place to stay and we were lucky to have a room with a beautiful view of the city and the mountains. It was simply marvellous. The owner Mr. Gunsch was very helpful while making... more

Jenbacherhof

Brighton
Jan 5, 2009

Had Christmas 2008 here with friends. Travelled with Great Railway Journeys. Excellent hotel with lovely rooms and bathrooms, no problems with hot water at peak times. Swimming pool excellent with sauna and steam room. Food typically Austrian, better than other Austrian hotels I have stayed in. Four courses plus coffee every evening. Would say this hotel not good for young... more

Sporthotel Ellmau

Birmingham
Jan 5, 2009

We spent Christmas and New Year at The Sport Hotel and found it to be a delightful experience. The hotel is ideally situated for both skiing and walking, being just a two minute walk (with boots and skis) to the ski school meeting place and about the same to the start of the easiest cleared winter walking trail. The ski... more

Hotel Valluga

Jan 5, 2009

Lovely Hotel, and Iris the owner is also very friendly. Yes the hotel does smell of smoke, but so does every where in St Anton, the smoking ban came into force on the 1st of Jan, but I only saw two places in the whole resort that actually took the ash trays away. I would advise the purchase of a... more

Muhle

Jan 5, 2009

We stayed at this hotel over the Christmas/ New Year period. First impressions were very good indeed: a warm, traditional chalet with buckets of Tirolean charm, quick and efficient check-in, attractive bar, spa and swimming pool, bathrobes and slippers provided. Unfortunately however it was not long before the initial delight faded as the frosty, unsmiling attitude of the owners made... more

Hotel Kristall

Jan 5, 2009

Wonderful hotel in the little Tyrolean village of Pertisau. Excellent service, very customer-orientated, good food, live music. Some minuses: gym facilities were available only for a fee (never saw this elsewhere) and we had no breakfast on the last day. All in all I would recommend this hotel warmly. more

Hotel Kristall

Jan 5, 2009

As the hotel is quite small the atmosphere is intimate and the staff, including Rieser family, managed to know every single member of my family by name and by personal preferences. In fact it impresed me the most. For instance I am a fan of brown sugar, it was enough to ask once and then I found the brown sugar... more

Kinderhotel St Zeno

Jan 4, 2009

Many problems! The people here are friendly, however.. the room we booked (the atelier) was always cold, despite several complaints, and an additional portable heater we were cold throughout the whole week. Furthermore the hotel has many wonderful holistic aspects but then to our great dismay NEON lights in the whole room, so we had red eyes when trying to... more

Chalet Helvetia

Bolton, Lancs
Jan 4, 2009

The chalet has an excellent location, only a couple of minutes from a high speed chair, ski shop and one of st anton's many bars. Brochure price for the trip was £1200pp but we got a half price deal so with flights transfers etc paid £600pp Room was fairly spacious and equipped and beds comfortable. Food was a bit of... more

Jenny's Schlossl

Jan 4, 2009

I stayed in the hotel during a skiing trip with familiy and friends in December 2008. Although the location of the hotel is fabuolous (just a few hundred metres from the slopes), the stay itself was a somewhat unpleasant expereince. The hotel consists of two houses, we stayed in the smaller one. The rooms were quite small and there were... more

Hotel Post

Jan 4, 2009

Stayed at the hotel for New Year, the staff were, without exception excellent, they helped to make our holiday an absolute delight. Our room was a good size with a lovely view towards the slopes. The hotel is clean and maintained to a very high standard. The balcony that is accessible from the main bar / restaurant was a perfect... more

Gasthof Bierwirt Hotel

Jan 4, 2009

We were not expecting to stay so close to the motorway and far from the center of Innsbruck. This guesthouse although characteristic is lacking of appropriate bedding and adequate service to make this stay nice. I wouldn't recommend it except for one night stay on the way somewhere but even so.... more
