I too was a bit trepidatious about staying here after reading the postings. Were those people staying at the same hotel??? I traveled with another family and we were a party of 7 and were all treated as guests. Complaints about the breakfast room being dark were unfounded. Hotel Gioia was perfect and we really enjoyed our stay. The staff was extremely helpful and made us feel welcomed. They went out of their way to help us explore Florence. The room was larger than we had anticipated especially for Europe and the walk out patio was a bonus. The bathroom was clean and the room was clean enough... more
